The FARO S70 3D Scanner, owned by Efes Marine and Industrial Engineering, is very suitable for this purpose as it can make tens of millions of measurements in just a few minutes. Scans are made from various locations to provide adequate coverage around the equipment. Scans are then saved together to bring them all to the same coordinate system. Scans of the ship's hull and keel can also be made, from which hull curves and surface models can be created for fuel or stability analysis as needed.
